The Natural History Gallery at Royal Ontario Museum is divided into 7 sections each with collections and samples of various animals such as bats, birds, and dinosaur bones and skeletons. The Art and Culture section is spread across 18 different galleries which feature specimens and exhibits from different civilisations across the globe. The artifacts and displays in the gallery range from Stone Age implements from China and Africa to 20th-century art and design. Chinese sculptures and other artworks representing their historical life and religious culture can be seen in three other Galleries. The Art and Culture section also features specimens that showcase historical and cultural lives of the people in the Eastern Mediterranean region, Korea, Greece, ancient Cyprus, early Byzantine era, South Asian, the Middle East and the magnificent Roman civilization.
The Hands On part of the museum is divided into two sections which features a fun and interactive way of learning and exploring ancient and modern civilizations across all age groups. The Patrick and Barbara Keenan Family Gallery Of Hands On Biodiversity is a gallery that focuses on the diverse and complex relationships between man and his natural environment.
The Gallery features interactive displays, specimens you can touch and trained facilitators who assist you in actively exploring the hundreds of exhibits that the museum has. The CIBC Discovery Gallery is a specially dedicated Kids activity area where children of all age groups can engage in fun activities. They can try on costumes, examine fossils and meteorites, dig around for dinosaur bones and other interactive sessions.
This exhibition harmoniously blends the relationship between Science, Nature and Imagination. The exhibits showcased here are Magical Creatures of the Wizarding World that have been creatively connected to the animals in the natural World. These Fantasy creatures have inspired countless stories and folklore through centuries of human civilization.
Kore 670 is one of the most intricate and remarkable sculptures of a maiden from ancient Greece whose colours and details are still remarkably clear and well preserved. This stunning sculpture was created between 520 to 510 BCE and it is considered to be one of the most refined sculptures that has been discovered from the Acropolis in Athens.
